Vision International Learning Center, our residential school is the highlight of our campus. We have about 110 boys and girls ranging from kindergarten to the 12th grade. Vision International provides a well-rounded holistic education that goes beyond textbooks to provide students with music, dance, sports, and extracurricular activities.
Samarthgad Foundation is the name of our campus in India. A place off the grid, among lush trees and beauty that surrounds the serene hills of Pune. Meditation, yoga, and mindfulness is part of our lifestyle and philosophy on campus. A place where students and adults connect with their higher purpose.
The Foundation is a self-sustaining living lab, as technologies are developed unique to the site. Rainwater retention ponds help store water for an entire weather cycle up to 2 years. Biomass chambers provide cooking gas and solar power provides light at night. We are constantly developing better ways to live in harmony with nature.
What to expect
The evening will give guests the chance to enjoy “The Diwali Experience” with entertainment, food and more to commemorate the Puranik Foundation’s 20 years of holistic education and service to children around the globe. As guests enter, they will have the opportunity to enjoy a market/bazaar with various stations and activities including a photo booth, henna art, and Indian finery. After, attendees will be treated to a delicious dinner of traditional Indian food followed by continued festivities and dancing. Valet parking will be available.
Attendees can take this opportunity to showcase the elegance of traditional Indian outfits. Ladies are encouraged to don traditional Indian Sarees, Kurtas, Lehengas, or classic Western gowns. Gentlemen may wear traditional Kurta with basic straight cut cotton, or a timeless Western suit.
We appreciate your support in making education more accessible and helping us provide wider platforms where students can learn from each other and share their experiences. We hope you will participate whether it is sharing your unique skills or giving financially. We are a family orginization and invite you to visit our campus and be a part of our vision in connecting people, cultures and ideas.
We are very appreciative of your time and contribution.
What is Diwali?
Diwali: Festival of lights
An auspicious week according to the Indian lunar calendar, marks the New Year. Every home is lit up with Diyas, decorated with color leaving no room for darkness. Families open their houses to guests and serve elaborate traditional meals and dessert. It is a time for friends and families to come together and be grateful for relationships, material goods, nature, and most of all each other.
The Founders Rekha & Sudhir Puranik
The Founders are the humble heart of this organization. Mr. Puranik has put his life’s work into WOM and Mrs. Puranik has made it a life mission to give back to the society that once gave them both the opportunities to succeed through limited resources. Together they are able to provide a platform where students regardless of financial backgrounds are given opportunities to succeed.
